In 2021, I spent time with two veteran wildland fire crews — the Folsom Lake Veteran Crew on California’s Dixie Fire and the Devil’s Canyon Veteran Crew on a small fire in Montana. This short film gives an authentic look at what the job is and how it might be a great transition from military service to civilian life.

In a test of human endurance, Mike Foote set out to achieve the world record for the most vertical feet climbed and skied in a single 24-hour period. On March 18, 2018, Mike surpassed the previous record by 2,000ft, setting a new record of 61,200ft.

The idea started off as a good one: To establish new trad climbs on the amazing 1,200-foot granite big-wall rocketing directly out of the ocean in Devil's Bay, Newfoundland. But for climbers Hazel Findlay, Alex Honnold, James Pearson and Mark Synnott, the great idea soon became something much different then planned.
